The vehicles of MENORCA BUS, S.L. are equipped with video surveillance systems for the following purposes:

1. To protect the safety and physical integrity of workers, passengers and other users.
2. To prevent, detect and clarify assaults, theft, damage, acts of vandalism, fraud and other incidents.
3. To protect the company’s vehicles, facilities, equipment and assets.
4. To analyse accidents, collisions, sudden braking, passenger falls and other incidents related to the service.
5. To handle and defend judicial, administrative, insurance or extrajudicial claims.
6. To exercise, in a necessary and proportionate manner, the company’s powers of surveillance and control over compliance with employment obligations.

The cameras are directed towards:

• The interior of the passenger area.
• The entry and exit doors.
• The ticket access and validation area.
• The driver’s position or surrounding area.
• The front of the vehicle and the direction of travel.

The cameras shall be positioned so that they only capture the areas necessary for the purposes communicated.

The capture of public roads shall be limited to the strictly necessary area to monitor traffic, investigate accidents and guarantee vehicle safety.

The system has the following characteristics:

• Sound recording: no sound is recorded.
• Real-time viewing: yes, with restricted access.
• Remote access: yes, with restricted access.
• Associated geolocation: yes.
• Alerts or event-based activation: sudden braking, collision, possible use of a mobile phone and possible smoking gesture.
• Facial recognition: no.
• Biometric identification: no.

The existence of real-time viewing or remote access does not mean that the activity of drivers or service users is permanently observed.

Live access may only take place where there is a specific and justified reason related to:

• The safety of people.
• The management of an emergency.
• An accident or incident.
• A technical or security alert.
• The location of a vehicle.
• A claim or complaint.
• A specific indication of non-compliance.
• Another duly justified operational need.

Remote access shall not be used to carry out permanent, indiscriminate or disproportionate surveillance of workers.

Employment monitoring

Images may be used to verify compliance with employment obligations where there is:

• An accident.
• A claim.
• A complaint.
• A security incident.
• An alert generated by the system.
• An indication of non-compliance.
• A specific situation requiring verification.

The images shall not be used as an ordinary system for continuous performance monitoring.

When an alert is generated automatically, it must be reviewed by authorised personnel. No sanction shall be imposed based exclusively on the automatic alert.

The company shall not record conversations.

• Courts, tribunals and competent authorities.

Authorised persons must respect the duty of confidentiality.

Accesses, viewings, downloads or extractions must be limited to what is necessary and, where technically possible, recorded.

Images shall be retained for a maximum period of one month from their capture.

Once this period has elapsed, they shall be automatically deleted, except where they must be retained in order to:

• Prove an accident or incident.
• Handle a claim.
• Investigate a possible unlawful act.

• Formulate, exercise or defend claims.
